Seven steps into the future...

  Healthy things grow

      Growing things change

          Change challenges us

Challenges force us to trust God

          Trust leads to obedience

      Obedience makes us healthy

  Healthy things grow

We know that seven-step cycle almost intuitively - It seems so obvious once we hear it or read it. I wonder why we have so much difficulty living it? I suspect it's that middle, fourth step which gives us the most trouble. It means we're no longer in control, and we know from reading the Bible, that God often has a mind not in agreement with ours.

The "leap of faith" mindset is not usually a human one. Like the leaps of Olympic gymnasts, leaps of faith (=trust) take practice and training - lots of workouts in the Word of God whose Spirit seeks to infuse us with Jesus-following obedience - a tough thing for us humans. But "with God all things are possible." And "God will never forsake us" when we are leaping in (and at) his direction.
