It is Mt. Dora’s Annual Village Antique Fair which is held on the downtown streets. Mt. Dora reminds you of a New England Village that is 5 blocks wide and 4 blocks deep with shops and restaurants. Spend as much time as you would like. Lunch and dinner are on your own. We will give you a list of wonderful restaurants for dinner. We will schedule a time for the bus to meet the group to go to the hotel. Each room has microwave and refrigerator. We will have lunch at Chalet Suzanne, a very special country inn operated since 1931.
Following lunch we will go to the historic Bok Sanctuary, tour the gardens and be present for the Carillon which will ring at 1 pm and 3 pm. The carillon consists of 57 bronze bells, ranging in weight from 17 lbs to nearly 12 tons and is considered one of the world’s great bell towers. If time permits, we can stop at the Lake Wales Museum and Cultural Center which includes railroad memorabilia and the history of Lake Wales.
We will make a stop on the way home for anyone needing refreshments. We will be home sometime early evening.
Tickets are $165.00 each. Make reservations through the church office, 954.427.0222 or by email.
