Palm Beach is home to several remarkable and unusual churches our sightseeing will begin with the furthest north of these, Temple Israel. This church is unique because the sanctuary is built to give you the feeling that you are inside Noah’s Ark.

Next stop will be St. Edward’s Catholic Church. This Spanish Renaissance style church boasts 45 exquisite stained glass windows, a stained glass ceiling and other magnificent appointments.

A few blocks south we’ll tour the Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal church. It is a soaring Gothic structure in the style of Leon Cathedral, considered the most beautiful church in Spain. The interior is exquisite. You’ll see the paralytic at the pool of Bethesda for which the church is named and the memorial gardens are breath-taking. It has been attended by many celebrities. Donald Trump was married here and a plaque in the 8th pew from the rear reads, “President John F. Kennedy knelt here at mass.”

Next stop, lunch at Jon G’s on the water in Lake Worth. And then on to the Scottish Rite Temple in Lake Worth. Housed in the Temple is an outstanding 65 foot mural depicting the building of King Solomons’ Temple. To accomplish a research task that went back into 3000 years of middle east history, muralist Bernard Thomas not only traveled to the natural sites, but always followed closely the Old Testament, 1 Kings, chapters 5, 6 and 7 for reference in his painting his credits in the mural field are too numerous to list. However, his hugh cyclorama mural of the nation ‘00 year history, housed in the Dahl Fine Arts Center in Rapid City, South Dakota, was a bicentennial masterpiece.

And thousands of visitors each year are given a new insight on the ecology of the Everglades at the nation’s southernmost National Park Visitors Center of Everglades National Park the home of another of his masterpieces.

Cost is $15.00 per person. Includes transportation via motor coach, church tours and driver gratuity. Lunch is on our own. Reservation deadline is January 10, 2007.
