Reservation Deadline January 7, 2008
Fresh
air, the out of
doors, naturalist led walk and illustrated talk, a walk along the
elevated boardwalk where you will see alligators, snowy egrets, water
turkeys are some of the things you can expect to experience and see at
the Royal Palm Visitor Center of Everglades
National Park.
Then before we hear too many queries of “when do we eat”
we’ll be off to the famous Capri
Restaurant
in time for a delicious lunch which will include your choice of salmon,
chicken, or pasta primavera with salad, homemade rolls, iced tea and
scrumptious chocolate cake for dessert.
How about tasting some wine after lunch? Beside a beautiful
waterfall? The Schnebly
Winery
may have some varieties you have never tasted like Lychee, Passion
Fruit, Carambola, Guava and Mango. This most exotic of wineries in the
world uses no grapes and is the southernmost winery in the continental
United States.
Next our travels take us to the Fruit and Spice Park,
a tropical paradise just 35 miles south of Miami on our tram ride
around the park. Surrounded by thousands of acres of tropical
agriculture including botanical gardens and more than 500 varieties of
tropical fruits, spices and vegetables we’ll learn all about this
famous Fruit and Spice Park.
Cost of this interesting, “spicy and fruitful” day is $65,
which includes coach ride, entrance fees, lunch and gratuities.
