Even though we don't like to think about it, hurricane season is right around the corner. One of the emotional effects of a major storm is the feeling you are facing it alone. This year the Missions Committee is encouraging everyone to get a "hurricane partner." Someone to talk to before the storm to discuss preparations, share concerns, and join in prayer.
After the storm, you and your partner should check on each other and, if help is needed, assist in obtaining that help. Just talking to someone after a hurricane can be a comfort.
The best way to face a major storm is with prayer, preparation, and a partner.
