Our beautiful new baptismal font is the result of many hours of craftsmanship, inspired by Jane Haskin's design idea. Once Jane expressed her vision to use the original pew backs from the choir loft, as well as the cross panels from the chancel wall, Ed Dietrich's Deerfield Builders Supply turned the curved backs into smooth flat pieces.
From those pieces, Rick Orwan skillfully and lovingly, built the hexagonal font, retaining the finish and marks of forty-three years of use; their "history." Crowning the font is the stunning water bowl created by Jim York. The twenty-two inch bowl was turned by Jim in his workshop from the burl of a Salmon Eucalyptus tree, and coated with resin. We thank Jim and Elizabeth for their generous gift.
