You make a difference

Although we in South Florida can be very thankful that  we have been spared any natural disasters in the past year, many thousands of people in this country and abroad have not been so fortunate.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is currently working with their international partners through Action by Churches Together (ACT) to get aid, supplies, and hygiene/health kits to those in:
* Nicaragua and Honduras to those who lost their homes and/or family members to Hurricane Felix.
* Jakarta and Sumatra (Indonesia) to those affected by the January/February flooding and the 8.4 earthquake that hit Sumatra on September 12th.
* Mexico to those affected by Hurricane Dean.
* Kenya and Sudan (Africa) to those displaced by civil clan land disputes, drought, and flooding.
* Teams are still helping to rebuild areas destroyed by the 2004 tsunami.

Closer to home, the PDA is working with the local Presbyteries to provide aid to the:
* North Dakota tornado victims
* Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas flooding victims.
* Teams are still in New Orleans helping to rebuild the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina.

Please pray for those affected by these disasters and those who are there to help. Also, know that your donations to the One Great Hour of Sharing are making a difference, both here and around the world.
