Christmas Joy Offering

Christmas Joy Offering

Wow! Its hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. As our thoughts turn to the giving spirit of the holiday season, please consider adding the following missions to your "shopping list."

Christmas Joy Offering: Collected on Christmas Eve, this offering is divided equally between the Presbyterian Board of Pensions and Presbyterian Racial Ethnic Schools/Colleges.

The Board of Pensions provides current and retired church workers (and surviving spouses) with funds to help recover from a natural disaster, obtain medical services or equipment not covered by insurance, and other unexpected financial needs.

The Presbyterian Racial Ethnic Schools/Colleges are Presbyterian church (U.S.A.)-related schools and colleges open to any qualified student regardless of race. The Christmas Joy Offering funds help with basic operating costs and provide scholarships to deserving students.

Toys for Gateway: Each year a beautiful Christmas tree is set up at the front of our sanctuary. The unwrapped toys placed under this tree are taken to Gateway Community Outreach, here in Deerfield Beach. Their toy collection program allows parents in current financial distress to provide Christmas presents for their children.

The Duvall Presbyterian Home: Located in Glenwood, FL, "the Home seeks to provide the highest quality of life and independence for each resident and to provide for their physical, emotional, and spiritual health within a family setting." Founded in 1945, they now have over 200 staff members providing 24 hour care to the 160 residents with developmental disabilities. (We support Duvall all year with our Campbell's soup labels.)

May you have a blessed and joyous Christmas season.
