Learn and grow together

Director of Christian life Joyce Thompson invites you to be part of our education and fellowship programs.

Children have a B.L.A.S.T. Sundays at 9:30 as they rotate among Bible Learning Adventure Stations in the education building. On the first Sunday of each month, children and their families are encouraged to attend worship together to receive communion.

Youth are encouraged to participate fully in the life, study, and worship of Community Church. Confirmation (becoming an active member of the church) is scheduled for youth as they complete middle school. Mission trips and other growth experiences, such as camps and conferences, are offered during the summer through various Presbyterian and other groups.
Christian Surfers meets here Friday evenings, 7:00-9:30 pm, in Briggs Hall. Christian Surfers brings the word of God to whoever has an ear to hear especially among teenage surfers.

Adult Education offers personal & spiritual growth in weekly classes, and at occasional weekend seminars led by nationally known experts. Our Bible studies engage scripture on three levels
• What the Bible says
• What the passage meant when it was written
• How it relates to your life today.
Adult classes meet at 9:30 am Sundays. Other classes, support groups, and personal growth opportunities are offered during the week.

All about Bibles

The variety of Bibles can be overwhelming. So, here's some information to help you sort it all out.

For a fairly scholarly view of how Presbyterians understand and use the Bible download "Presbyterian Understanding and Use of Holy Scripture" (This is a 7.7 MB Adobe Acrobat Reader pdf).
